Streaky accentor with brownish wings and slaty head with distinctive pale white eyebrow and moustache; the only accentor in the southwestern Arabian mountains. Taxonomically controversial, often considered to be a subspecies of Radde’s Accentor. Pairs and groups frequent boulder-strewn rocky slopes with grass and shrubs between 1800–3000m; may be an altitudinal migrant. Song is a series of quick clear notes ending with a burry scratching. Radde’s Accentor does not co-occur with Yemen but is brighter and less streaky.
