Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

Distinctive black, gray, and white flycatcher of rainforest midstory and canopy. Medium-sized flycatcher with a small bushy crest; white underneath, gray above with a black head, wings, and tail. Found in mature rainforest and forest edges, especially around water. Its calls are quiet but make them much easier to find; listen for a musical “pew, pip.”
