Small flycatcher, gray above and white below. Note the white eyebrow, the two white wingbars, and the usually concealed white central crown. Found in scrub, woodlands, and agricultural areas. During the austral winter, migrates north and east. The song is a series of dry sharp notes: “psee-psee-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-e.” The very similar White-crested Tyrannulet has yellow underparts.
