Medium-sized, long-winged and elegant falcon of arid zones. Adults are rather pale bluish-gray or dark gray, depending on light conditions. Note the yellow legs and skin around the eyes. Juveniles have Hobby-like head pattern and are streaked below. Paler than dark-morph Eleonora's Falcon and lacks contrasting underwing feathers. Larger and longer-winged than male Red-footed Falcon. Breeds on cliffs in the desert, and also along coasts and on islands. Breeding season is very late and coincides with fall migration of passerines, which it hunts on the wing. Migrates to Madagascar and East Africa.
