Small, pale bird found in grasslands of southern South America. Tan above, mostly white below, with brown streaking through most of the body down to the flanks. Displaying males have an elaborate flight display involving long bouts of song and elegant ascents high into the sky. Paler and with more extensive breast streaking than the warmer yellow Hellmayr’s Pipit; more subtly marked than the similar Correndera Pipit.
