A medium-sized shrike that is very similar and closely-related to Isabelline Shrike, but the back is colder toned and the underparts are whitish. Males are striking with a rusty crown, bold white eyebrows, and a deep rusty tail. Young birds are more heavily patterned on wings and underparts than Isabelline Shrike.
