Identification

Dark glossy-green cormorant with a bluish neck, red face, and yellow bill. White patches on sides of rump. Found on rocky coastlines; breeds in colonies on precarious cliff faces. Restricted to the Aleutian Islands and nearby Alaskan coastline. Most similar to Pelagic Cormorant but note thicker neck and bill, brighter face, and yellow bill. Feeds on fish.
