POWERED BY MERLIN

Subtly patterned reddish-brown flycatcher of high-elevation montane forests. Perches upright, often on the tops of snags or bushes around forest edges and clearings. Grayish brown above, warm tawny reddish below, with reddish wingbars and a weak black eye-line. Listen for a series of short bouncing notes followed by a punctuated ending note: “pip-pip-pip, pi-PEW.”
