Entirely black. Large, long-legged, thick-necked bird with heavy, straight bill. In flight, wings are fairly broad and rounded with wingtip feathers spread like fingers. Short tail, squared off at the end. Common in coastal areas in southern Alaska, British Columbia, and parts of Washington (Olympic Peninsula, San Juan Islands and Bellingham, but not in city of Seattle). Slightly smaller than American Crow, though differences are slight.
