Large dark myna, restricted to the islands of Nias, Babi, Bangkaru, and Tuangku off the northwestern coast of Sumatra; favors forested hills. Very similar to Common Hill Myna, but marginally larger overall, and with larger white wing patches. Song is extremely melodic and variable; unfortunately, intensively targeted for the cagebird trade, and now critically endangered as a result.
