Remarkably drab olive overall with white eyering and wingbars. Relatively thick bill. Plumage is similar to Ruby-crowned Kinglet, but note thicker bill and bluish legs of Hutton's Vireo. Found in forested areas, particularly live oak and mixed coniferous/deciduous forests. Often in flocks with other small songbirds. Distinctive song; sets of repeated phrases.
