Fairly small hummingbird with very limited range in dry valleys of Honduras. Green above with whitish belly. Throat is glittering blue, bill is dark on top and bright red below with dark tip. Sexes similar; female overall slightly duller than male, especially on throat. Found in scrubby habitats, including arid thorn forest and edges of open pine woodland.
