Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

Striking antbird with a cinnamon breast band and a bare eyering. Males have gray underparts, while females have buff underparts scaled with black. Has a very small global range, occurring in the understory of humid forests, where it attends army-ant swarms. The song is a series of descending whistles ending with a harsh “chirr.”
