Large hummingbird of open forested habitats in Amazonia. Gray head and underparts, green above. Note fairly heavy, slightly drooped bill, white spot behind the eye and white tips on the tail. Occurs mostly in forest clearings and other open forested habitats, such as forest edges, tree fall gaps, and gardens.
