Identification

A large dark swift with a body made up entirely of sharp angles; black overall with a slightly paler throat and a bright white patch on the rump. Long forked tail is prominent in flight and is often opened while banking and turning. Migrates in enormous flocks, which utter a sharp trill in flight. Physically all but identical to Cook's, Blyth's, and Salim Ali's Swifts; best identified by range.
