Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

A small babbler-like warbler with dark brown upperparts and pale underparts, a dark breast band, and a white throat. Restricted to the island of Príncipe, where it is easily recognized. Pairs are common residents in the understory and middle levels of low scrub, forest, and plantations. Clambers on trees and vines, poking around in the manner of a greenbul. Has a loud up-and-down musical song with notes on varying pitches, much like other Sylvia warblers.
