Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

Confined to the Da Lat region of southern Annam in Vietnam; near-identical Blyth’s and Himalayan Shrike-Babblers are out of range. Male is black above and white below, with a bright white eyebrow and a black-and-orange panel on the wings. Female looks glancingly like a faded version of the male, with gray upperparts, grayish-brown underparts, and a yellowish tail and wing panels. Inhabits forests from lowlands up into highland regions, where it joins mixed flocks, often foraging at upper levels.
