Fairly large hummingbird found in the Andes of northern Colombia and western Venezuela. Glittering green overall with a coppery belly, puffy white feathers at the base of the legs, and bright sapphire undertail coverts. Sexes similar. Occurs in high elevation montane forests, shrubby woodland, and páramo; occasionally visits feeders.
