Plain olive-green above and whitish below with no wingbars. Variable amount of yellow on underparts, sometimes bright lemon on undertail coverts and flanks. Dark stripe through and above eye. Thicker bill than warblers, body about the same size. Widespread through South America, mainly in lowlands but also up into foothills. Very similar to Red-eyed Vireo, best distinguished by voice.
