A large bird from localised areas of lowland forest canopy. Black body, brown head and chest, heavy bill and blue eyes. Immense bill is dark in adult males and yellow in adult females and juveniles. Similar to other co-occuring crow species, but Gray Crow has a bare, pink face and Torresian Crow has a thinner bill and is usually found in more open habitats. Typical crowlike cawing given while dipping its tail and lifting its wing tips.
