Identification
POWERED BY MERLIN
Small, dull-brown flycatcher, but noteworthy for its streaked breast and bold wingbars. Sexes alike. Much smaller than other streaky flycatchers (like Streaked or Piratic), and without any bold head stripes. Bill shape helps separate from unrelated brown streaky birds like Indigo Bunting. Found in open shrubby habitats such as weedy edges or scrubby secondary forest. Usually single or in pairs. Sometimes follows mixed-species flocks.
