Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

Found exclusively in piney woods of the Southeast U.S. Often in flocks in crowns of pines and hard to see clearly. Small nuthatch with brown cap, gray upperparts, white throat, and creamy-white underparts. Call sounds like the squeak of a toy rubber ducky.
