Primarily bright yellow bird like the Indian Golden Oriole. The head, upperparts, and underparts are entirely golden-yellow, apart from the black on the lores and a broad black band through the eyes and across the nape. The tail and wings are black with yellow tips. The bill is deep pinkish. The female is similar to the male but has more yellowish-green upperparts.The juveniles show streaked underparts. The species is found in variety of forest habitats, including plantations and gardens. Diet mainly consists of insects, which are primarily picked up while foraging in the forest canopy.
