Identification

POWERED BY MERLIN

An azure-blue flycatcher. Male exhibits a black nape patch and a thin black gorget. Female lacks the black nape patch and gorget markings. Both male and female show black feathers on top of the bill. The azure-blue gradually fades into grayish-white underparts. The wings, tail, and upperparts are dirty gray. This bird inhabits well-wooded and forest areas. Like most flycatchers, hawks in mid-air to catch its prey.
