Identification
This adorable small parrotbill with an oversized head is a common companion of White-hooded Babblers in mixed flocks. Brown above and white below with a bright orange head and small but prominent black brow; compare with larger Rufous-headed Parrotbill, which doesn’t have a brow mark. Found in foothill and submontane forests and forest edges, particularly in dense bamboo stands. Vocalizations include rattling trills and whistled notes.
