Identification

Only occurs on the Balearic Islands. A dark gray, long-tailed, and big-headed warbler. Red eye ring is distinctive. Differs from Marmora’s Warbler in having buffy flanks and a light grey throat on breeding males. Typically found on scrubby hillsides and rocky coastal scrub, usually avoids woodlands. Primarily forages on the ground.
