Spectacular and distinctive large swift, noticeably larger than Common Swift and Blyth’s Swift, but with slower wingbeats and a "lazier" and wider soaring flight. Dark brown overall with white belly; at close range, white throat patch is visible. Breeds colonially in cliff faces, mountains, larger buildings. Migratory in parts of its range.
