2022 Stikine River Birding Festival
The Stikine Birding Festival is organized by the USDA Forest Service and the City and Borough of Wrangell. Festival events will take place from April 22–May 7 in Wrangell, AK.
The first weekend of activities April 22–24 will include storytelling, nature walks, and a presentation by US Fish and Wildlife Service biologist Zak Pohlen on finding Alaska’s rarest breeding birds along the Stikine River. Second weekend activities April 29–May 1 include banding demonstrations, photography workshops, and presentations from biologists Fernando Angulo from Peru and Ana Agreda from Ecuador about shorebird conservation. The third weekend of activities May 6–7 includes scavenger hunts, bird house building, and community events. Find a full schedule here.
