Long, curved bill. Adults mostly dark with iridescent green and reddish tones. Very thin white border surrounding the dark facial skin. Dark eyes. Found mainly in salty marshes and shallow wetlands. Best distinguished from White-faced Ibis by distribution and facial pattern.
