(Rare filter 1): 2-3 together at Jetty : midsize warm-colored Grebe with red neck, white cheek patch, black cap : actively diving : terrible digiscope of head of one ; (note others also reported 3 here this past week)

terrible view , sun too bright on, and too distant away on Jetty : but appropriate size , uniformly dark upper and breast contrasting with white underside , and thought maybe I saw something whitish like above bill on face? and thought maybe I saw flash(es) of white upperside when opened wings to fly

~ 200 on sand bank center of jetty triangle, with peeps, I couldn’t get any good view without walking down jetty rocks, (which I did 30-yd and gave up, am not good at, is scary )
