Saw in direct comparison with Song Sparrows. Smaller more delicate Melospiza sparrow with finer crisper streaking below that was more constrained to the breast. The breast was washed with buff and the face was tawny and buffy rather than base gray like a Song Sparrow or more whitish and yellow like a Savannah Sparrow. The bird also had prominent buff malar stripe. Overall paler buffy-brown than Song Sparrow and note as heavily patterned and not quite as pale as a Savannah. This is right on the cusp for the first migrant Lincoln's. Shawneen and I had a migrant Lincoln's at Fern Ridge last weekend, which may be the earliest lowland migrant that I have ever seen in w. Oregon.
