  20. Number observed: 1

Details: First seen by others, who mentioned the general area, a grassy lane extending into the woods from the entrance road. We tried that area twice with no luck. Only after we had been in the area for two hours did it appear: a smallish dark bird with lighter wing edgings moving in the mid level of the trees above the slough. First found by its piercing “sip” call note. Flicked wings and tail. We Did not see its belly as it was facing away and soon moved toward the entrance road. Head shape phoebe-like with a hint of a ruffled crest.
