This month’s eBirder of the Month challenge, sponsored by Carl Zeiss Sports Optics, is all about eBirding with others. The eBirder of the Month will be drawn from eBirders who submit 20 eligible checklists shared during August. Each shared checklist that you’re a part of in August gives you one chance to win.
These lists could be shared with you from another person OR shared from you to someone else—the only requirement is that all people on the shared checklist were birding together at the same time and place. Checklists must be entered, shared, and accepted by the last day of the month in order to qualify for the drawing.
One of the great things about eBird is the variety of people who use it to find, share, and study birds. We hope that this month’s challenge is an opportunity get out in the field with fellow birders and to share your appreciation of eBird with others. Introduce someone to eBird. Take a walk at the local park with a family member, reconnect with an old birding buddy, or join a field trip hosted by a community birding group. Together, we can reach a new milestone of more than 800,000 people using eBird to log their sightings!
August’s winner will receive a new ZEISS Conquest HD 8×42 binocular and will be notified by the 10th of the following month. Each month we will feature a new eBird challenge and set of selection criteria. And don’t forget to submit lists for the 2022 Checklist-a-day Challenge!
