Bird recorded from the Union River Bridge to the Tide Water Dam. Blue-headed Vireo found with photos. By far the best bird of the morning. Location was on the small road going down to the the damn dam.

Observations

  1. Number observed: 1

Details: Long distance and bright sunlight made for washed out hoods of the males. This was a nice flock of about 19 birds mixed more females then males.

  2. Number observed: 2
  3. Number observed: 109

    Details: counted

  4. Number observed: 1

Details: Very late/RARE migrant for this season. Photos in poor lighting conditions : Blue head with striking white eyering , white wingbars, an overexposed chest to belly and yellow flanks. This bird was foraging with some BCCK and I just caught a glimpse that seems vireo like. Sure enough it landed briefly while I was out of position but it approached some pishing before scampering over the hill towards the south and seemingly following the Union River.
