From the base of the hook we traveled due east for a few miles, then transected South East to the Mud Hole water feature, we traveled WNW on the way back.

    Details: Mostly alternate-plumage, single bird flying up the bow of the boat then flying off starboard side. A little after 3 PM.

    Details: Excellent count! We suspect that many of the Alcid sp. flocks in the distance were Razorbills. This was early in the day, ~1-3mi offshore, around Sandy Hook. The abundance of baitfish in the area was noted by the captain. The first group of (6) birds was mostly alternate (breeding)plumaged. We had a dozen birds on the way in to port.

    Details: One whitish first year- black bill. Adult bird attracted to a scallop boat shucking scallops off the back end with about 300 other gulls. The adult (with gray primaries) briefly joined the group of Gulls following us after we left the Scallop Trawler.

    Details: Second cycle and third cycle following the chum line in the afternoon. Adult bird with sparse head streaking was offshore attracted to a scallop boat shucking scallops off the back end with 300+ other gulls.
