We arrived at daybreak to search for the Pink-footed Goose, which had most recently been reporting on the evening before our visit. As we hoped, the goose was there this morning and we had no trouble spotting it among the Canadas because it was on the near edge of the goose flock.

Very dense fog cover with light misting rain at times. Cold temps. Light winds.
Birding at Dorney Park

Observations

  1. Number observed: 1

Details: Continuing adult - There are between 2 and 4 Pink-footed Geese in PA/NJ that birders know of. Two had been seen simultaneously seen recently in Lehigh County and this particular bird seems to be the most cooperative lately. As soon as we arrived, we saw the goose on the near edge of the goose flock. Throughout the morning it made its ways towards the back center of the flock. A few minutes before 9:00am the goose took flight, by itself, circled the lake once and then headed SW. Andy McGann found it soon afterwards in the Dorney Park parking lot.
