Details: Continuing. This time in northeast corner. Singing constantly, but not a full throated song - sort of a whisper song. Small gray greenish passerine with wing bars, longish thin Bill. Active with distinctive song mixed with chattering.

Good commentary from Marshall on the Millennium Park bird regarding movement vs. detectability as cause for the apparent spike in sightings the past week. Does seem that most of the birds seen in the past week are at sites that had late fall or early winter birds - and survival was just unusually high. Indeed 2 of my 3 sightings this past week only occurred because the bird was singing. But I don’t think of this species as particularly hard to find when present. This plus the male BTB in Cambridge are head scratchers. Did they really slip through the cracks all/part of the winter (most likely) or has there been some “long tail” movement of a few individuals fueled by southerly winds in our last few storm systems? Or are these all quarantine sightings resulting from more birding closet to home? Certainly more coverage of local patches than usual at this time of year. Interesting to ponder
