Drove straight to the boardwalk first, so I didn't look closely at who was in the water near the entrance - when I returned it was dark and while I could see (and hear) ducks and geese flying by, I couldn't actually identify them. In other words - I didn't see much. Just went out after work due to serious cabin fever.

Details: Lifer - wohoo! Flew right over my head as I was standing on the board walk. As it was flying towards me I thought "Huh, it looks like a Cormorant, but it's too small." Then - as it flew over me - I got a good look at it and realized it was my first ever Neotropic Cormorant. It was like seeing the runway model of Cormorants; it was so slender. I've only ever seen Double-crested - until now.

Details: Approximate number - all around the trail next to the boardwalk (just walked out that trail to where it opens up - maybe half-way to the railroad). I confess the combination of the sun having just set and hearing a pack of coyotes singing nearby made me decide not to walk the entire loop. :-)
