Details: a Rufous Scrub-bird this morning after we got into Antarctic Beech country along the Border Track. A master skulker as always. It's call rang out as we got to a dense gully line and although our views were less than we wanted the bird gave several brief views as it progressively circled around us hugging the ground.
Bird seen flying low across the track - plain brown back and head with a longer tail than the logrunners went into the scrub and beak buried in the leaf litter. Bird seen a second time flying low across between the gullies, briefly resting on a log along the gully line before moving on again and being glimpsed a third time travelling through and hugging the ground.
