Details: *high count; conservative estimate of birds in morning flight, rough tallies done intermittently between ~06:20 and ~08:30. One survey lasted a minute where Max and I counted ~40 individuals on ground alone coming into tape. At any one time, there were anywhere from a dozen to 50 birds in the air all heading W to Tuckernuck. A count conducted by Francis at ~08:00 produced a clicker count of 84 birds over 5 minutes, taking into account the likelihood that a) birds were circling for the most part and b) birds were returning mid-way from Nantucket to Tuckernuck after an attempted flight out.
