Details: Maybe the surprize of the morning. Shortly after entering the Audubon sanctuary, I got on a raptor that landed in a tree. I could see that it was a buteo and clearly smaller than a RTHA. The bird turned and flew and I could see the rufous wing linings.

Details: After about 5 minutes of walking about the field, we picked up on the WEKI. It was in the thicket just to the right of the solar panel. These were the best looks I have ever had of a WEKI. In th bright, early morning light the olive color stood out on its pale, gray back. The yellow in the belly showed beautifully. Continuing bird first found by Sean Williams. I got off one photo and my camera died, probably due to the spill I took on the way in.
