Details: I was very surprised to hear a Red Crossbill (possibly two) flying overhead. Heard timing loud popping energetic series of "kwip-kwip-kwip-kwip" notes. I was not able to get a good look at the bird, but I was able to see a finchy Robin-sized bird flying overhead while I was hearing the calls. The quality of call was similar to that of a Pygmy Nuthatch or Hammond's Flycatcher (both of which would probably be more unusual here I believe). Call louder and not consistent with that of a White-winged Crossbill.
