Details: I initially blew this off as a Common Loon as I desperately scanned to relocate the red-throated. I briefly considered YBLO, blew it off, continued scanning for the red-throated, wondered again about YBLO, but now the bird was much further out, and I again decided it was a COLO with a pale bill. I keep coming back to these photos, and am finally convinced it was a Yellow-billed. Huge loon with large bill, seemingly upcurved lower mandible, with relatively straight culmen, although I didn't study the finer details of bill structure in the field until it was MUCH further away than shown here. Almost entirely yellow bill color (maybe a slight bit of duskiness on the proximal end of the culmen only) held at an up-tilted angle, facial pattern (pale diffuse brown without a particularly prominent collar, dark auricular/post-ocular spot on mostly pale face), huge blocky head with a very prominent "brow bump".
