Details: Amazing find by Richard Aracil in south part of Pelham Bay Park, a short walk from the Aileen B. Ryan Recreational Complex. True to its reputation, the wren was difficult to relocate in the tall grass. It became more active at dusk, calling with sharp, dry chips and a little chatter. We could follow its movements up and down the field by the bending and shaking vegetation, and I finally got a whole-bird view of a small wren with stripey wings, cinnamon sides, pale eyebrow. Patrick Horan took photos, one of which is attached here. Richard got vocal recordings.
