NNW winds <10 gradually clocking eastward. 70 and clear. Spectacular flight began about 0710 h. Note there are two one hour stationary counts then a third count that began at the point but then we drove west to the 2nd Phanton Interchange Rd. Most birds were flying fairly low and crossed with no hesitation. Catbirds were the only species obviously milling and unwilling to cross. However, enough other birds perched to get some identifications. We timed the flights in 3 and 1 minute intervals, and had rates for a while that exceeded 80 birds per minute, and that was making no attempt to count birds high above or in the distance. Near dawn thrushes were calling and we picked out SWTH, GCTH and WOTH. Most INBU were silent. RBGR were giving thier SWTH like call, but it took me a while to figure that out. The flight was 30% unknown, and I'd guess 25% INBU, 15% RBGR, 15% thrush sized, and 15% in the warbler-vireo range. Obviously, birds identified in flight are the easiest ones to nail down in a 2-3 second flight view--RBGR, MAWW, AMRE, etc.
