Details: Please look @ this grebe. I was a long distance away when I was viewing them only with my binos. After looking at these two photos, this one grebe looked more like a Clark's Grebe than a Western. I could tell the Western Grebe right away by the dark around the eye and below the eye but this one appears to have the dark above the eye. Bill looks more orange in photos, but I was not able to determine this in the field due to the sun shining on the grebe. I saw a Clark's Grebe in May 2019 in San Diego and that grebe was distinctive for a Clark's Grebe with no black below the eye. These photos of yesterday show dark to the top of the eye but not below the eye so I am not certain if this is a Clark's Grebe or a Western Grebe.
