This was my first time at Montrose Point. What a birding treasure spot! Being from Texas and a new birder, I was overwhelmed by all the warblers and shorebirds. But many helpful bird nerds identified species with which I was unfamiliar and made the whole experience very enjoyable. After more than 2.5 hours, I had only scratched the surface of all there was to see in Montrose Point, but I'll be back and plan on staying longer.

Comments: One bird was mixed in with the Canada Geese on the beach. Tall (maybe 15") with very long bill that curved down. Looked like a smaller, grayer version of the Long-billed curlews with which I am familiar, except the bill was not quite as long.

  9. Number observed: 100

Comments: This is a low estimate of the number that I counted by 10s on the beach.
