Details: **rare in interior, and an big surprise for us as we got done with surveys this morning. Two dark morph adults seen flying NE over town and airfield, likely coming off the Yukon and moving up the Porcupine. Smaller than HERG that flew in the same direction before it, but slimer with longer, more pointed wings, larger than ARTE. Small head, and small billed. Stiff central retriceis extending part the tail, but shorter than the long floppy tail off the more expected LTJA. Stiffer wing beats, less bouyant flight than a LTJA. No tail paddles on either bird. Interestingly, it seems 2 previous ebird records in interior occurred along the Yukon River SW of Fort Yukon, and there are breeding records south of the Brooks Range in the Old Crow Flats area. H. Korth mentioned he had seen them in the area in the past. We have also had a good movement of GWFG overhead moving NE today as well. No photos.
