    Comments: Bird was heard calling in private property immediately to the west of the Grand Staircase Inn for 5 minutes until I had to leave. The bird was giving the distinctive wit-weet of western Curve-billed Thrashers but stayed hidden the whole time. Calls were separate and not the part of larger phrases, ruling out Northern Mockingbird. The exact location of the bird was: 37.569028, -112.055772.

    The spectrogram matches Curve-billed Thrasher as seen below with lower down-curved first not and rising second note.

    Comments: 1st for the county in ebird. Orange Oriole with black in head restricted to only the throat. Have recording of veek calls.
