    Details: Immature bird, late first cycle/early second cycle. Large gull, as big as a Herring Gull, grayish upperparts slightly darker than nearby Herring Gulls, mixed with brown, wing coverts also grayish mixed with brown, mottled whitish underparts, darkest on belly, head whitish with dark spots and streaks, folded primaries dark brown. Bill tubular and sharply bicolored (pale base and darker tip). From Herring Gull by head shape (peak above eye), darker gray upperparts, and downturned gape crease. Eyes dark. Leg color not seen. Not seen in flight. Hanging with Herring Gulls in the fluddle on the public beach near the plastic boardwalk.
